Born and raised in Florida, within a half-hour drive to the Gulf of Mexico, Nate began an early love affair with the ocean that has never ended. He is an avid scuba diver and enjoys almost any activity that is on, under, or around the water. Like many writers, Nate has a diverse background of experience. He has enjoyed a career in the private security field as a professional security officer, a field supervisor, a facilities security manager, and a scheduling officer. He has worked as a janitor, a municipal property inspector and code enforcement officer, and even for a seafood company, processing and delivering fresh seafood from the Gulf of Mexico. Nate now combines his passion for experiencing, exploring, and protecting the marine environment with the craft of storytelling to create the Southern Waters Adventure Series. He currently lives in the midwestern United States with his wife and two neurotic cats.
