Walking Among Giants: A Painter in Paradise

by Michael S. Meusch

Walking Among Giants captures a piece of history through the biography of a Painter searching for his own identity. Artist Robert Tauney was always a dreamer. Now driven to confront his worst enemy, his own ego. After serving in the First World War, Robert soon finds a teaching job as a painter in New York, but after hearing the inspirational words from the Famous Artist Robert Henri, he decides to leave America and soon finds himself in Gay Paris. He befriends with Painters, Authors, and other creative intellectuals, seeking to carve out their own indelible marks in History. The story deepens with his Unrequited love, the Model, Kiki of Montparnasse, and (The Tigress), a French actress who slowly pulls him into the Opium parlors of Paris. Robert finds out that Paris has an ancient secret awaiting him. A symbolic tidal wave of destruction is coming. Robert must make a vital decision or be swept away in the currents of deception and denial and overindulgence while facing insurmountable odds. This is a deep and potent work that takes the non-artist closer to the painting process and the workings of the artist mind. This fictional work gives a rare look at what it might have been like in Paris in the Roaring Twenties and to WALK AMONG GIANTS
