In Pindorama, a territory divided into four large provinces that coexisted in a friendly and independent manner, if you were black or mulatto, all you had before you was a life of work and slavery. Now, if you were black and still carried the 'curses of witchcraft', whatever kind it was, the only thing left for you was death. Of course, those rules were followed until the interests of someone important were barred by them. Pindorama tells the story of four young mulattoes who find themselves more and more involved in dangerous subjects that smell of rebellion without looking for it. It's a story about inequalities and power issues, but, mostly, it's a story about self-knowledge. 'Stories are individual. They can be truths, heard facts, watched events. They can be inventions, yearnings, daydreams. Each one has a look, a way of seeing, a particular side. Stories are dangerous. They can form ideas about something, about someone, about a people. They can transform a people's vision of something, about someone, about other people. It all depends on a point of view. It all depends on the intent behind who tells them.  And yet, perhaps even because of that, I always liked them very much, both to listen to them and to understand them through my own eyes. However, I was never the person who tells them, either because of lack of opportunity, ability or even willingness. But there is one factor (the one that causes almost everything in this world to happen) that haunts me for a certain time, the need. The need, perhaps selfish, to make me at least a little understood by you, even if at times I do not understand myself. '
